Forty-Five Verses: Your Will

Image
When you don't know what to pray....start with what you know is true... "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done , on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory. Forever and and ever. Amen (Matthew 6:9-13) Thy will be done, Lord.  Day 114 Today's Verse.... "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;  Establish the work of our hands." Psalm 90:17 Blessings, Suzanne

Forty-Five Verses: Wings to Fly

Image
God sometimes gives us a rest period that is wrapped up in a "seemingly" impossible situation and can only be fixed by Him. By rest I don't mean it's a grab your favorite pj's and blanket and pull the cover over your head kinda rest... this is a holy rest. It doesn't really look or sound like rest to others and not even to yourself at the time. But holy rest is a set time for a set purpose...set by God.  A calmness of mind. Peace unexplainable. Simple defeat of past enemies, trying to rob our rest. It's sustaining rest of the Holy Spirit. I stumbled on these words today from March 9th in (my favorite) Streams in the Desert devotional (p104) "Bearing the burden of crushing weight actually gives christians wings." This was in reference to Psalm 55. "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you." Psalm 55:22 God is developing our faith.Rest in the Lord and allow Him complete access to your heart to deal, heal and conceal all t

Forty-Five Verses: It's About the Growth (Repost)

Image
Hey Friends, I hope you have had a good week! It has been a full week of prayer and sharing the faithfulness of God for me..beginning with "Night of Prayer" Monday night...then a  "call to prayer" on WDJC 93.7 Rox and Friends (wow-so powerful!!) Wednesday morning and then speaking about "Joy in the Process" on Thursday to a Lovely group of ladies! Throw in family and working and home and boom it's Friday! On Monday night, as I prayed... I literally stopped like a statue when I heard the song "It is well" begin to play. The next line "With my Soul" showered me with peace of God and it has hovered all week. The peace that transcends all understanding. Praise God for His peace. I shared the following CaringBridge Journal  from 2010 to the group I spoke to on Thursday, as well as with my family this week. I wanted to share again with you. Prayers that you continue to grow in Christ! Have a fantastic day! "To set the mind on t

Forty-Five Verses: My First Blog Post

Image
When I started CaringBridge I had not even heard the word "blog".... This was my first blog post written May 24, 2011 on Blessings, Suzanne! I wanted to repost and let you know that it is time to turn the page again...time to jump in and make this little blog my own. Sooooo, be looking for new and exciting changes..."coming soon!" I can't wait to show you!  I pray this is a place you can come to find the love of Jesus,  hope, encouragement, cancer support, a laugh or two and animal shenanigans ...grab a cup of coffee and enjoy! "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2 Since Jesus is THE author and finisher of my faith, I give Him the glory and honor for every word written on this blog from this day forward. As his word says "looking unto Jesus", I will be looking, seek

Forty-Five Verses: 31 Days of Pink: The Answers I Needed (and still do) Repost

Image
Hey there! This is a "Repost" from October 2, 2014 from the "31 Days of Pink" series.... "For the kingdom of God is not a matter or talk but of power." I Corinthians 4:20 One of my morning "quiet times" with the Lord at the Lake I had many questions,  but all of the answers are found in God's word,  the Bible. Who  will help me get through this? "For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." Deuteronomy 20:4 What  do can I do, this seems like too much? "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 When  will this be over or get easier? "The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." Psalm 121:8 Where  will I find the strength to keep going? "The Sovereign LORD is my stren

Forty-Five Verses: Relax and Reset

Image
Spring Break 2018 This heron was just minding his own business when we walked up and disturbed his peace. It appeared to be his happy place, just as the beach was mine on Spring Break.  I am still relishing in the good time we had doing a whole lot of nothing. How peaceful and productive it was to just be still. To relax. In this fast paced, overscheduled, overstimulated, overwhelmed world of technology, comparison and chronic busyness...relaxation is becoming harder and harder. It's non-existent to some and seems unattainable to others. Just because you're still, you don't have to be bored. Did you know when you are bored you can actually be creative?  It's as if being bored is a bad thing these days. We are so used to being entertained with our phone or activities we don't know how to be still and  listen. To the voice of God. To pray for others. To write down our thoughts. To write a card to a hurting friend. To clean out a closet or drawer. To go work

Forty-Five Verses: Timeless Silver

Image
Silver is timeless, traditional, and just says "grace" all over it. Just as sure as it can be beautifully shiny and elegant, it can turn dull and tarnished. What a contrast! Since I have always been a big fan of silver..it would be safe to say, I decorate with it quite often. And by decorate I mean myself and my house..smile! I remember when the trends went from gold to silver and I transitioned to BIG silver earrings (my ear lobes say "total 80's earrings"), bracelets and necklaces. I still have so many of those pieces because they really don't go out of style. And my house has atleast one silver item in each room I can tell you without taking inventory. My wedding china is trimmed in silver. I have silver trays hanging on my dining room wall. And then there's mercury glass which looks silverish, love that too. We surround ourselves with things we like, that reflect our style.  Though I don't own any real expensive silver pieces, the value

Forty-Five Verses: A Colorful Day

Image
The weather here in Birmingham yesterday felt like a summer day in April! That being said, I selected my  green and navy Easter dress (with a tinge of excitement) to wear out of town for work today. I was right on time, set to go, head outside to get in the car and.....BRRRRRR! Oh no! It felt like the end of winter again. It was too late to go up and change so I decided to brave it and be on my way. I got almost there and realized I needed gas, so once again I was quickly reminded that I clearly did not watch the weather this morning. That was the longest "fill up" ever. BRRRRR! At my first stop, I opened the  trunk to grab something and then I saw it. Thank you, Lord...My bright red coat ....that had most likely been there since Valentine's Day deliveries...what a treasure! Now a little warmer (and happier..smile) I waltzed into the building and into the elevator. As soon as the doors closed, there I was..a sight to see..THE MOST COLORFUL OUTFIT EVER! Think Circus

Forty-Five Verses: Happy Easter

Image
Jesus paid it all. Today, I am in awe of His love, His goodness, His faithfulness, His resurrection power and His path ahead, for He is the Only way. All to Him I owe. "He is not here: He has risen,  just as He said." Matthew 28:6 Happy Easter to you! Day 103 Today's Verse... "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's scheme's." Ephesians 6:11 Blessings, Suzanne
