Forty-Five Verses: Wings to Fly


God sometimes gives us a rest period that is wrapped up in a "seemingly" impossible situation and can only be fixed by Him. By rest I don't mean it's a grab your favorite pj's and blanket and pull the cover over your head kinda rest... this is a holy rest. It doesn't really look or sound like rest to others and not even to yourself at the time. But holy rest is a set time for a set purpose...set by God.

 A calmness of mind. Peace unexplainable. Simple defeat of past enemies, trying to rob our rest. It's sustaining rest of the Holy Spirit. I stumbled on these words today from March 9th in (my favorite) Streams in the Desert devotional (p104) "Bearing the burden of crushing weight actually gives christians wings." This was in reference to Psalm 55. "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you." Psalm 55:22 God is developing our faith.Rest in the Lord and allow Him complete access to your heart to deal, heal and conceal all that concerns you.  REST and be RENEWED. Our dependence on Him is vital when the going gets tough and the tough get going! Our part is to keep moving, keep going, keep serving, keep sharing, keep growing, keep surrounding ourselves with the kingdom, keep our eyes on Jesus and spread our wings to......FLY!

 Day 113 Today's Verse..
"By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also."
1 Corinthians 6:14

On Your Mark

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 While walking on my everyday path and praying about the upcoming Race for the Cure, that I plan to RUN this year, my eyes fell right upon this cross. (picture to the left). I am sure if any of my neighbors were looking out their window it was a sight to see me staring at the ground and saying "only You, God" (and likely very loudly, due to the fact that I had my earbuds in and music blaring)! Two pieces of pine straw put perfectly together to form the cross on the road. What a sweet reminder of God's love! After I snapped a picture, I began to pick up the pace a bit and RUN. Baby steps. My faith in myself had been renewed that I was reminded to look to Jesus to help me run this race. The problem is I don't like to run. I never have, walking is just fine with me...smile! Get Your House In Order: Sunday Scripture

"So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,  To see Your power and glory. Psalm 63:2 I read these two verses to Luke this morning, he was the first one up, besides me. It was a great opportunity to tell him how I read the  reference verses that go along with the verses each day. We looked up the verses and read them as well. He thought that was cool (his words). We had a brief moment of discussion and then he moved on. We don't normally get that morning time together...what a blessing! Have a wonderful Sunday!
