Forty-Five Verses: When Storm Clouds Pass

We had some threat of storms this week and some parts of Alabama were hit hard with damage from strong winds, tornadoes and baseball size hail. So on Monday, as the TV kept flashing the map of our state in red with warning I began making preparations. The schools dismissed early. Phones were charged. Candles out. Generator ready. Plans to spend the evening in the basement if needed. Dinner was cooked early. But.....I kept looking outside at the sun.....just a shining...blue skies? Confusing. I kept saying "the calm before the storm." Well. Besides some rain and wind, the storm took a different turn and missed us all together. I am thankful that we were prepared and safe. My prayers go out to all those dealing with loss and damage that God give them comfort and peace and restoration.

You just never know what will happen when a storm cloud forms. Much like the storm clouds in life. There is always a threat of storms, the word of God says "I told you these things, so that in me you will have peace. In this world, you will have trouble, But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 And as believers, we are preparing ourselves daily to be ready when they come. Not if, when. When the storms come, sometimes out of nowhere, sometimes from clouds forming over a period of time, sometimes with no explanation, and the rain starts....it's so important to go straight to the Father and get instruction. Right then. Begin praying, reading your Bible, be still and listen for Him to give you the next step to take.  And when the winds start blowing, repeat those steps. Call out to your prayer warriors. Use discernment of who God is putting in this season to help you shelter the storm. I have learned by trial and error that usually that circle is small. And when the winds blow harder, my praise gets louder (ask my children..lol). When the thunder cracks and the lightning strikes, the spirit of fear must go, it has no place to dwell in a house where God has given love, power and a sound mind. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. (Galatians 5:1). And as the clouds become darker you find that you are surrounded by kindness and  concern from those who are carefully placed to pray, intercede, lead and most of all love you through as you hold on for dear life. The tornado swirls but it does not touch down. The plan was in place but this storm went another direction. And before you know the sun is out and you look and thank God for the blue sky. A simple blue sky, with white clouds, sun shining and peace. Peace after the storm. In Him only, we will have peace. Comfort, peace and restoration. Rest on that for just a minute......

Whatever storm you are facing, coming out of, just missed or weathering...know that God is with you, He will never leave or forsake you. He loves you. And so do I...smile! The sun will shine again and the storms clouds will pass! Thank you, Jesus! No matter what, you are faithful!

Spring 2018

Happy Spring!

Day 93 Today's Verse...“Sow righteousness for yourselves; and reap faithful love. Break up your unplowed ground. It is time to seek the Lord until He comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain."
 Hosea 10:12
