31 Days of Pink: Abby's Sixteenth Birthday

 Happy sixteenth birthday to miss Abigail Grace, our Abby!! Everything is different this year, new house yet you are no different..still as sweet as you were sixteen years ago, the day I laid eyes on you! How about the decorations, polka dots to match the sheet rock on the walls, might as well go with the theme..haha! It's a tradition to sit at the decorated table and open presents before school..smile!
This may go down as the birthday with the worst pictures but we had a great day! I took her to take her driving test (she passed..yay!!) and then headed into work. It sure was nice to send her to the store when I realized right in the middle of the recipe that we needed something else! She requested that we just hang out here tonight and that I make potato soup. Done. Easy peasy. Well, when you have all the ingredients. She gladly went after it and I added a few more things. Wow, that's gonna be nice!

I am so excited about all the Lord has planned for Abby in the days and years ahead. I learn so much from her every day!

On Your Mark

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 While walking on my everyday path and praying about the upcoming Race for the Cure, that I plan to RUN this year, my eyes fell right upon this cross. (picture to the left). I am sure if any of my neighbors were looking out their window it was a sight to see me staring at the ground and saying "only You, God" (and likely very loudly, due to the fact that I had my earbuds in and music blaring)! Two pieces of pine straw put perfectly together to form the cross on the road. What a sweet reminder of God's love! After I snapped a picture, I began to pick up the pace a bit and RUN. Baby steps. My faith in myself had been renewed that I was reminded to look to Jesus to help me run this race. The problem is I don't like to run. I never have, walking is just fine with me...smile! Get Your House In Order: Sunday Scripture

"So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,  To see Your power and glory. Psalm 63:2 I read these two verses to Luke this morning, he was the first one up, besides me. It was a great opportunity to tell him how I read the  reference verses that go along with the verses each day. We looked up the verses and read them as well. He thought that was cool (his words).
