From Nonna's Beautiful Backyard Garden

As a young girl I can remember making huge bouquets of flowers from blue hydrangeas at my grandmother's house (Mamaw Townsend). She had a bush on the side of the house and I would pick them and put them in vases and also pretend they were decorations for mud pies (remember, Brooke?)...oh to have those summers back in her back yard. With her big garden, strawberry patch and crab apple tree, there was always fresh fruit and vegetables to eat and splashes of summer colors!

These beauties are in Nonna's garden and they sparked all this nostalgia today.. Abby and Luke have been having some summer backyard fun at Pop and Nonna's just like I used to at my grandparents house! Summer is all about making memories..can't wait to see what this one has ahead..smile!

Thank you for the blessing of summertime, freetime, familytime and most of all time with you, Lord! Amen and Amen.

On Your Mark

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 While walking on my everyday path and praying about the upcoming Race for the Cure, that I plan to RUN this year, my eyes fell right upon this cross. (picture to the left). I am sure if any of my neighbors were looking out their window it was a sight to see me staring at the ground and saying "only You, God" (and likely very loudly, due to the fact that I had my earbuds in and music blaring)! Two pieces of pine straw put perfectly together to form the cross on the road. What a sweet reminder of God's love! After I snapped a picture, I began to pick up the pace a bit and RUN. Baby steps. My faith in myself had been renewed that I was reminded to look to Jesus to help me run this race. The problem is I don't like to run. I never have, walking is just fine with me...smile! Get Your House In Order: Sunday Scripture

"So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,  To see Your power and glory. Psalm 63:2 I read these two verses to Luke this morning, he was the first one up, besides me. It was a great opportunity to tell him how I read the  reference verses that go along with the verses each day. We looked up the verses and read them as well. He thought that was cool (his words). We had a brief moment of discussion and then he moved on. We don't normally get that morning time together...what a blessing! Have a wonderful Sunday!
