Get Your House In Order: Weekly Check-up

"Now thanks be to God who always leads us to triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place."

2 Corinthians 2:14

Hello there! We are on day seven of the journey of making small choices and changes daily toward "getting our house in order" spiritually and physically! Here is what is on the list so far:

1. Seek the Lord every morning

2. Do one thing today you have been avoiding

3. Finish what you start

4. Embrace the down time

5. Listen and know that still small voice

6. Live thankful

I wrote down the list (two copies, one for the car and one for my fridge:) so I am daily reminded to stay on track! This idea came to me today, as I tried to remember what I was supposed to be changing again..haha!! Some of these are already a part of my daily life but others have been HUGE in opening my eyes to see where change is needed.

I am not giving myself a grade on my weekly check-up, that would put me right back in the perfectionism trap from which I am recovering!! I am just keeping tabs on my participation and enjoying the fruit that comes with progress. On down the road (and probably not far) this will require removing some other habits and replacing them with healthier ones.  How thankful am I that the Lord is with me, every single step of the way. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go." Psalm 32:8

Seeking him in the morning, first thing, as I have for fifteen years has by far been the best decision I ever made back then to incorporate into my daily routine. And still today, I can't imagine, what my life would look like without putting on my armor. Actually, I can. We are never more than a step away from falling. The difference is I don't want to go back to the way I was.  "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

I pray that this will help you in some way to decide to do some things in your life differently in 2015! Lord, keep us ever growing to be more like you. Amen.

Day#7 Discipline yourself to do a weekly check-up

Blessings,

Suzanne
