Forty-Five Verses: Simple

This cold weekend in the south is going to be spent reading the beautiful book "A Simplified Life" by Emily Ley. It's more of an interactional book that I picked up last weekend when getting Luke's required reading book...I felt I needed an assignment as well, or maybe accountability is a better word. I wish I could just read every waking minute of it, but will try and put into practice some of the ideas in the book. First step is decluttering. Before you organize, before you clean. On it...ready to fill some garbage bags!

What about you? What do you have filling your time this weekend? I pray it's one of rest, joy, prayer, seeking the Lord and making memories. More on my simplicity journey tomorrow! Short and sweet today. Simple..smile.

On Your Mark

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 While walking on my everyday path and praying about the upcoming Race for the Cure, that I plan to RUN this year, my eyes fell right upon this cross. (picture to the left). I am sure if any of my neighbors were looking out their window it was a sight to see me staring at the ground and saying "only You, God" (and likely very loudly, due to the fact that I had my earbuds in and music blaring)! Two pieces of pine straw put perfectly together to form the cross on the road. What a sweet reminder of God's love! After I snapped a picture, I began to pick up the pace a bit and RUN. Baby steps. My faith in myself had been renewed that I was reminded to look to Jesus to help me run this race. The problem is I don't like to run. I never have, walking is just fine with me...smile! Get Your House In Order: Sunday Scripture

"So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,  To see Your power and glory. Psalm 63:2 I read these two verses to Luke this morning, he was the first one up, besides me. It was a great opportunity to tell him how I read the  reference verses that go along with the verses each day. We looked up the verses and read them as well. He thought that was cool (his words).
