Get Your House in Order: Gratitude

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever."
1 Chronicles 16:34


Although life seems to be going in all different directions...
I am thankful.

Yesterday when someone asked how things were going, I began talking of the house situation.
Yet her words made me stop, thank her and change my view.

She said "oh yea, when I lost my house, I had to live in four different places."
She lost her house and all her belongings in a tornado. 

Our conversation was cut short but I looked her straight in the eye and told her thank you for sharing. 
I needed to hear her story. 

I woke up yesterday thinking about making a gratitude list,
Her story was my confirmation. 

I made the list, and it's no surprise that today was a terrific day.
God is getting this house in order!

On Your Mark

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 While walking on my everyday path and praying about the upcoming Race for the Cure, that I plan to RUN this year, my eyes fell right upon this cross. (picture to the left). I am sure if any of my neighbors were looking out their window it was a sight to see me staring at the ground and saying "only You, God" (and likely very loudly, due to the fact that I had my earbuds in and music blaring)! Two pieces of pine straw put perfectly together to form the cross on the road. What a sweet reminder of God's love! After I snapped a picture, I began to pick up the pace a bit and RUN. Baby steps. My faith in myself had been renewed that I was reminded to look to Jesus to help me run this race. The problem is I don't like to run. I never have, walking is just fine with me...smile! Get Your House In Order: Sunday Scripture

"So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,  To see Your power and glory. Psalm 63:2 I read these two verses to Luke this morning, he was the first one up, besides me. It was a great opportunity to tell him how I read the  reference verses that go along with the verses each day. We looked up the verses and read them as well. He thought that was cool (his words).
