A very wise woman, I know and love, shared this saying that had been passed down to her...

"Be thankful that you did, not regretful that you didn't."

I have carried that with me day after day. To try and live without regrets. When I feel I need to make that call, text or email a scripture, stop and talk or visit someone, I try my best to do it right then. And every time that I follow through, whether I really know the reason or not, I am thankful to God I did.  Life is but a vapor " Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes," James 4:14 (NIV)

Who can you be a blessing to today? When we take the focus off ourselves, it's amazing how life seems to have so much more meaning. Serving others is where our actions and our words collide. We can say things, make promises,have good intentions,even smile (all day long) but without follow through we have missed the mark. I can't tell you how many times I have been on the receiving end of someone else's follow through and how wonderful it is to know that God put me on their heart that day. Don't let me miss the mark, Lord. Amen.

On Your Mark

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 While walking on my everyday path and praying about the upcoming Race for the Cure, that I plan to RUN this year, my eyes fell right upon this cross. (picture to the left). I am sure if any of my neighbors were looking out their window it was a sight to see me staring at the ground and saying "only You, God" (and likely very loudly, due to the fact that I had my earbuds in and music blaring)! Two pieces of pine straw put perfectly together to form the cross on the road. What a sweet reminder of God's love! After I snapped a picture, I began to pick up the pace a bit and RUN. Baby steps. My faith in myself had been renewed that I was reminded to look to Jesus to help me run this race. The problem is I don't like to run. I never have, walking is just fine with me...smile! Get Your House In Order: Sunday Scripture

"So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,  To see Your power and glory. Psalm 63:2 I read these two verses to Luke this morning, he was the first one up, besides me. It was a great opportunity to tell him how I read the  reference verses that go along with the verses each day. We looked up the verses and read them as well. He thought that was cool (his words). We had a brief moment of discussion and then he moved on. We don't normally get that morning time together...what a blessing! Have a wonderful Sunday!
