In memory of Wes Riggins
One you can never forget, loved by many 
and...alot of fun, never a dull moment with him!
He will surely be missed.

We all have our favorite memories of Wes...
Tonight I took a walk when we got back from the funeral.
I started thinking about him teaching me how to
cook one of the most delicious meals I have ever eaten. 

Skillet Seared Salmon with Garlic Cream Sauce
with Grit Palletes.

 He was living with Jeff at the time and boy could 
he make a mess in the kitchen! I think he somehow convinced me
to clean the kitchen though...smile! 
I still have the recipe written down that he gave me.
 Our family will be having that dish this week.
I have not made it in years.

I pray a special prayer this evening for
 his family, 
his wife and baby girl.

Day#324 Life is short, make each day count

8 Years Cancer Free: Living Life Intentionally and Boldly

Matthew 4:4 8 Years CANCER FREE  Cancer is brutal but CHRIST IS BOUNDLESS!  I remember this 26th day of January every year as a marker in my life! An encounter with the Lord, face to face and truly beginning to live a life surrendered to His plan, not mine. For the past year I have revisited some of the same quietness I experienced while going through the cancer process. Sitting at His feet. Leaning in closer. Close enough to hear Him whisper the next step. Sitting still, unable to move beyond the written word on the page speaking to me right where I was. And I needed the time with Him. I needed less time with other things. I wanted to make my home with Him. "God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day." Psalm 46:5 Good morning! It has been a few days, yet I am still in Psalm 46, still on a twenty-one day journey. I laugh at how literal I really am. This is day eleven and I am so wanting to look and see how many posts I have written, I felt sure I would write one a day! My eyes landed on this verse yesterday "If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm." Psalm 37:23 and was light a bolt of lightning! You see, I am learning, that when you walk by faith and not by sight, things just, quite frankly, don't make sense. Hmmm, great revelation at 5:15 am huh? So simple, but Lord, thank you for the reminder. Why do I get so caught up in the details that I miss the point, and maybe miss the lesson. HE is WITHIN me (and you) and I will not fall!
