Forty-Five Verses: I Broke His Heart

Image
I broke His heart. Not intentionally, but it makes no difference. I had never thought of it that way until a few months ago. I thought of all the times I made my list of wants and needs, in the name of prayer. I thought of all the busyness trying to prove I was enough. I thought of all the energy wasted worrying about situations out of my control. I thought about the choices I had made that brought consequences. I thought about how I went straight to another friend to talk about what ailed me that day instead of Him. I thought of how much He loved me regardless of how I treated Him. I broke the Lord's heart and that broke mine. And then I began to pray. Earnestly pray. In my brokeness, I repented. And ask for forgiveness. I was not met with silence but with three simple words.... I SEE YOU. It felt as if a wave of reassurance had washed over the top of my head down to my feet. I see you simply meant ...I see you for who I made you to be. I see what's going on. I see it all...

Cancer Survivorship Video Interview Today

Image
"But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions,  do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."  2 Timothy 4:5 Young Breast Cancer Survivorship Network Video Shoot 2015 "I am at a great place!" are the words that ended my interview about Cancer Survivorship today! Almost seven years later, what a relief to be sitting there. Restored. This video shoot was set up like a "where you are now" after treatment, surgery, etc. I was one of seven participants and number seven, I must add. For me that was very appropriate going into my seventh year of remission from breast cancer.  The answers to questions came pretty smoothly, as this whole process still seems fresh at times.  I remembered that there is truly always a purpose in any pain. That as I walked through the diagnosis and treatment with other women, I saw and felt the emotions through the eyes of a caregiver and realized just how hard it was on my loved ones. Every va...

Get Your House in Order: Set Apart or Set Up?

Image
"I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born." Jeremiah 1:5 Den Mantle 2015 Hey Friends,  So sorry for the lack of writing lately, it's about all I can do to get something posted most days. I made a promise to myself to post every day for a year. "We" are almost there and I so appreciate you sweet souls who stop by. More than anything I hope that the verse somehow resonates with you each day. Today's sure did with me. Set Apart. Before we were born . And why is it that the longer we live our lives reflecting God's truth  we still fall right back into "blending in"  rather than being set apart? Because it's easier? Maybe. Because it's more popular? Probably more times than I can count. Because it looks like everyone else? Fear of standing up and out. I am quickly reminded that blending in is not part of His plan. That would be a set up. From the enemy. He hates for us to stand up...

Get Your House in Order: The Anchor Holds

Image
" This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's sanctuary" Hebrews 6:19 (NLT) The anchor holds. It keeps the ship in place. At a resting or stopping place. The anchor holds. The weight of it falls far into the sea and the ship stays in place. Until the anchor is lifted and the ship resumes it's pace, it's speed or it's cruising along the waves. The anchor holds. The rope holding the anchor is connected to the ship securely. It has to be. Whether it is for a short time, a crisis or and extended period, the anchor is the needed stability and the anchor holds.  Without an anchor, the ship cannot stay in one place for long. One swift wind is all it takes to set motion. Possibly in a wrong direction. Definitely at risk for off course. Drifting aimlessly.  Every ship must have both an anchor and a captain. The captain knows the territory. And the anchor holds. This has been swirling around ...
