Get Your House in Order: Live Thankful
"Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:20
Before we rang in the new year, the kids and I were talking about being grateful for what we had and trying to come up with a phrase that would remind us to be thankful for all God has given us. Finally we came up with simply, live thankful.A few days later on the way to school, Luke started complaining about an ache in his leg and I quickly jumped in with, an ache in something when I felt to try and change the atmosphere. " Let's just say we are thankful about everything that is bugging us today and see if our attitude gets better?" About the time I said it, the car next to me verred over in my lane .."Whhhaaat....oh, I am so thankful I can share my lane with you right now, " and they all bust out laughing! Uh huh, it worked.
I notice such a difference in my day when I am in an attitude of thankfulness. And I actually notice a difference in the attitude of those around me as well. I can choose to be live thankful. To thank God, throughout the day. Thessalonians 5:18 says "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." This is a game changer. Live life, everyday, thankful!
Day#6 Discipline yourself to Live Thankful
