Get Your House in Order: Embrace the Down Time

"When he entered the house, the blind man came to him, and Jesus said to them, "do you  believe that I am able to do this?" Matthew 9:28

Sunday Afternoon Hike at Red Mountain Park
Today has been a great day! One of those days that I wish I could bottle up and savor for a week:) We had a stress free Sunday morning before church..enough said. Everyone was dressed and ready on time. I am so thankful for the message, songs and fellowship with our church family, just really embracing the blessings of corporate worship. I was able to whip up a quick, gourmet meal for lunch consisting of cheese quesedillas and salad (haha)!

After a few chores (very light), we set out for a Sunday afternoon family hike. Abby began planning this outing yesterday, she makes an excellent social chairman for the Moore family! With all the rain, here in Birmingham yesterday, it was quite a mushy trek through the trails, but we were all together, we were unplugged, we were in fresh air and I found myself actually able to

embrace the down time.

Thus, my discipline for today. Sunday is the Sabbath. The Lord's day. A day to  rest both physically and mentally from the hustle and bustle of the busy week and focus on what really matters, Jesus Christ. "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." Exodus 20:8 As I am daily doing my best to make changes this year, this one has priority. I have become too busy on Sundays and only I can change that:)

Thank you Jesus, you make all things new. You deserve the highest honor, glory and praise, all the days of my life, every day, especially on Sundays, make me more slow in task and more focused on your truths and others. Help me to rest in you.  Amen.

Day #4 Discipline yourself to embrace the down time
Blessings,
Suzanne

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus--the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God." Acts 20:24
