Require
"Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened; Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, "Behold, I come; In the scroll of the Book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, And your law is within my heart."
Psalm 40:6-8
Good evening, friends! I hope that you have had a good day! I thought I would post a picture of our playroom tree (or the top of it) to show you the vast difference between the "Peace" tree in the den and the "homemade ornaments" on the playroom tree. I treasure the pictures of Christmas pasts with my little babies smiles on the tree! They always go at the top to make sure nothing happens to them, they are so delicate and bring Pure Joy every year! And this tree is also artificial whereas the den tree is real, pine smell the whole nine yards...one day I will have two real trees, maybe, maybe not, just a thought. The artificial one reminds me too much of our christmas tree growing up and I am oh so nostalgic!
I am also extremely tired tonight as I could have been quoted an hour ago saying "it feels as if this day will never end." I say with all reverance and thankful praise in my heart. This girl is just worn slap out! Big weekend, remember??????? Smile, anyway!
Working a different schedule tonight to prepare for tomorrow's work day and then realizing that both cute babies on the tree here need some clothes for a christmas play and a horse show this weekend. What does a Mom do? Stop at Target, of course! As we were hanging up those new items, I just casually asked if Miss Abby had any homework (it was 7:00 pm at this point) and she thought a minute and then smiled. "Well, I do need some help with Social Studies." Oh dear. I am quite sure that's when I made the comment.
So here I sit, determined to post my "forty in forty posts". I have a REQUIRED it of myself. That's a big step. But more than that" I delight to do Your will, O my God, and your law is within my heart." I love that verse, those very words because it is true. Anytime I sit down to write, whether it be to journal or to post on here, or write a note, I want it to always be something that will pleasing to the Lord. Not just a "required" empty, bunch of meaningless words or a task to check off the list, but a little something that reminds you that you are loved by the Most High God. You are His sweet baby ornament that hangs on the christmas tree...the apple of His eye! He desires our time, our devotion and our surrender to His will.
And when we require that of ourselves......
Pure Joy!
So, I am calling it a night. And I did work on memorizing the verse in Hebrews today, how about you? I pray you have sweet dreams!
Blessings,
Suzanne
